We are back with our Tune in Thursday playlist. Check out the full tracks and reviews below!
Kiernan McMullan | “Get Out Of My Own Way”
Kiernan McMullan just released a new track, “Get Out Of My Own Way.” What an impressive start to our Tune in Thursday. This is a slowed down track that has a more acoustic feel. This moves Kiernan’s vocals to the forefront of the song, which is perfect, considering how strong his vocals are. He has one of my favorite voices that I have heard in a long time. Absolutely stunning performance. Also, those harmonies are beautiful. This is one of those songs that you will listen to, over and over. Make sure to give this one an add to your playlists.
Alexa Villa x Colie Hutzler | “Bored”
Alexa Villa teamed up with Colie Hutzler of Beauty School Dropout, for a new track, “Bored.” Do you ever just hear a song and know right then that it could be a huge? That is exactly how I felt when I heard, “Bored,” for the first time. This is such an energetic track. The melody is impressive and gets you hooked instantly. The real standout here are the vocals though. Their voices go together extremely well together. This is easily going to be one that you will have in your heads. Make sure to give this one an add to your playlists.
Everything Brighter | “SCARED OF THE DARK”
Everything Brighter just released a new track, “SCARED OF THE DARK.” It is really refreshing to hear a song that brings you a sense of nostalgia. There is so much of that feeling going on in this new track. The instrumentals are really well done and pair well with the vocals. These vocals are super powerful. They do a great job at showing off their vocals, all while never losing the energy of the song. Definitely a standout this week. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
Charlotte Sands | “Alright”
Pop/rock artist Charlotte Sands always felt like a lone wolf outside of her loving family’s home. Yet, today the electric-blue-haired artist is seemingly a life raft for Gen Z-ers and beyond, who are plagued by these same feelings of angst, anxiety, and alienation. Her latest single, “Alright,” an ethereal but anthemic pop track, chronicles a profound turning point in her story. Charlotte tugged at my heartstrings with, “Alright.” To have a memorable Pop ballad, you have to have an infectious melody, meaningful lyrics, and beautiful vocals. Charlotte has all three in this track. This is easily one of my favorites that I have reviewed since I started MOTR. Her vocals are incredible and will leave you wanting more. A perfect end to our Tune in Thursday playlist. Breathtaking. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
