Long before moving to Los Angeles, piling up hundreds of millions of views, inspiring countless TikTok creates, generating 40 million streams, and earning acclaim from OnesToWatch, The Hidden Hits, and more, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist heeded a personal calling to make music back in the “Jubilee City” of Daphne, AL. Now, he delivers an unpredictable punk-inflected pop sound of his own highlighted by quotable lyrics and hummable hooks.

“I’m just a kid from Alabama who stayed true to himself, never let anyone get in his way, persevered, and stayed on the path I was set for,” he observes. “I knew I didn’t want to go to college or work in a restaurant—I just had to make music. It brought me here.”

In 2021, he unleashed his debut single “Flashbacks,” which unapologetically opened the wounds of his fractured family with confessional crooning over soft acoustic guitar. On its heels, “Isabelle” exploded with 12.2 million Spotify streams, while OnesToWatch hailed it as “a pop punk influenced banger.” Meanwhile, “13 Missed Calls” only increased his momentum as he landed a deal with Arista Records.

“I go into the studio without knowing what’s going to happen,” he explains. “I like to mix electric guitar with melodies. That’s the sound.”

In the end, Zach Hood does his home state proud.

“When you listen to me, I hope you have fun and get something out of the words,” he leaves off. “I try my hardest to tell a real story. It’s deeper than you may actually think it is at first glance. There are songs about getting fucked up, songs about escaping, and sad songs. I’m just trying to let people know I’m here for whatever they need.”
