Fernando’s Eyes is the solo project of Fernando Honorato, singer and co-founder of Stockholm post-punk and darkwave band Principe Valiente, which he founded back in 2005. He launched the solo outlet in 2025 with debut single “A Million Times,” followed by his debut album, Center Of Your World. New single “Room On Fire,” released September 25th via Aenaos Records, is the project’s first new material since that record.

Where Center Of Your World leaned into more atmospheric territory, “Room On Fire” moves with real directness. Honorato produced the track himself, with co-production and mixing from Hans Olsson in Gothenburg, layering programmed drums against live toms he played personally to give the rhythm section real physical weight. A shimmering keyboard flickers around the edges while Honorato’s bold baritone carries a haunting, gothic-tinged post-punk chill, pulling the listener into the track’s atmosphere rather than keeping them at arm’s length. A saxophone contribution from Swedish jazz musician Lina Langendorf cuts through the arrangement partway in, an unexpected but genuinely welcome burst of brightness against the song’s darker tones. Thematically, the song is about leaving without looking back, framed not as loss but as a deliberate, resolved choice, and that forward momentum shows up directly in the production itself, which pushes ahead without any extended fade or lingering ambiguity.
The track comes paired with an official music video directed by Damรณn Zurawski of Future Legends Films, a frequent collaborator of Honorato’s across both his solo work and Principe Valiente. The video features Tess Tรถrner Kaplanis, known for her work in Memoria, Snake, and Motylki, on guitar. Viewers should note the video contains lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. “Room On Fire” also serves as the first single from Fernando’s Eyes’ upcoming second solo album, with further details still to come.
