Katmaz produces emotive, soulful music with a unique and emotional voice. Approaching music visually, Katmaz has expanded his sonic landscape to include more electronic production elements, but he does not stray from the warmth of analog equipment. He stays true to his influences like Neil Young and Radiohead, and often draws comparisons to Bon Iver , Young the Giant, and Portugal, the Man.
Katmaz was born in Buffalo, NY and currently resides in Los Angeles, California where he co-runs a studio on Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood. His debut album “Tell Me How Great You Are” is set to release September 2022.
The new single, “Everytime I’m Away,” is a super strong single. The instrumentals and backing effects are really well done. They compliment the vocals completely too. They do a great job at showcasing the emotion of the song, throughout its entirety. Definitely one that should be added to your playlists.
