Bridget Dowling | “Back to Her”

Bridget Dowling is an indie folk singer/songwriter originally based in New York. She began singing in elementary school, performed at the Tilles Center at 8 years old, and went on to write her first song when she was eleven. After graduation, she moved to Nashville, TN to pursue her dreams of doing music.
Bridget just released her second single, “Back to Her,” on July 10th. This is a song about dealing with “another women,” in a relationship. I know a lot of people are going to relate to this song on multiple levels. There are some very powerful lyrics in this song.
“She’ll be lying in the sheets / on my side of the bed / and you’ll kiss her until you forget every I love you we said.”
When Bridget sings things lyrics, you can feel the pain in her voice, which makes it even more heartbreaking. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. She shows off her range in this song with her higher head voice, and even in the lower portions as well. This song has a very 90’s feel to it, which makes me happy. 90’s Country will always be my favorite, so it is pretty cool that this song incorporates that.
All in all, this is a beautifully heartbreaking song, that deserves to be heard. If Bridget Dowling keeps putting out music like this, she will be a force in Nashville. If you are a fan of good, storytelling music, take a listen to “Back to Her,” below and stream on all major platforms.
