Track by Track
In Between Dreams
The title track opens the album with an elegant vulnerability. Its gentle instrumentation and soft vocal lines make it feel like waking from a vivid dream, a promise that the journey ahead will balance subtlety and emotion.
Feels So Good (Don’t It)
One of the more upbeat songs here, this track leans into swing and attitude. The chorus is catchy and warm, and the harmonies shine. It works well as both a radio moment and a deep album cut that keeps you singing later.
Mutual
“Mutual” brings a mellow rhythm and emotional weight. The lyrics dwell on reciprocity in relationships, when feelings are (or aren’t) matched. It’s one of the tracks where the production steps back to let the vocals and words breathe.
Two Faced Lover
This song has a bit more edge, addressing betrayal or confusion with honesty. The instrumentation tightens, and there’s tension in the vocal delivery that gives the track bite. It feels like an admission and a question in one.
Crush
Light and romantic, “Crush” evokes longing. The melody flutters, and the production picks up in certain moments to lift the emotional arcs. It’s one of the tracks that shows the album’s more hopeful side.
Say The Word
This one is intimate. There’s a closeness in the arrangement and voice that makes the listener feel part of the conversation. It’s less about spectacle and more about connection, and that works beautifully here.
Scandalous
“Scandalous” leans into drama. It has that split between swagger and confession, the kind of song that knows it’s a little guilty but refuses to apologize. The performance feels confident. Definitely one of the stronger ones on the album.
Cold Shoulder
This track carries hurt and distance. The production is cool in tone, matching the theme, and the vocal has moments that crack slightly, which makes it feel human. A strong moment of contrast on the record.
Sober
A more introspective piece. Here, the lyricism takes center stage, and the instrumentation dims to let the emotional weight land. It’s a song that feels like turning inward, assessing what remains when illusions fade.
Onto Something
Closing the album, “Onto Something,” gives a sense of forward motion. It holds the space between hope and uncertainty, with a melody that lingers in memory. It’s a fitting way to end a record about dreams, distance, and what lies between.
In Between Dreams is an album about the spaces in relationships, the silences, the unspoken moments, the push and pull. Secret Rendezvous has crafted a body of work that balances polish and intimacy. It doesn’t always go for big hooks; it often wins by lingering in small details.
