Andrei British is a songwriter from Southern Florida with a taste for storytelling and a knack for musicality. His new single, “Vampire Girl in Love,” bets on a humorous take on a classic supernatural creature, and it’s among the most impressive things he has released so far.
Vampire Girl in Love
The song is an energetic, sensual interpretation of the attraction between humans and vampires, told from the undead girl’s point of view. It plays out over an irresistible, late-1940s-style jazz production full of interesting melodies and dynamic changes, and despite the supernatural subject matter it manages to sound universal in its approach and appeal. At heart, it’s an incredibly sweet love song.
What sets it apart is a bittersweet twist on vampire lore. The narrator is just as happy to stay in love if her partner chooses to remain mortal, a sacrifice that plenty of love songs reach for and miss, and one that feels at home here because of the supernatural setting.
The official video, which was made with AI tools, balances traditional gothic images of vampires with old-school jazz bars, adding to the story, and it’s worth knowing that going in. Overall, the single shows a songwriter whose songs get more intricate with each release and a production that keeps pace with their aesthetic, and the result is a surprisingly warm song with a lot of charm.
