Levi Hummon is back with his 2nd installment of Songs I Grew Up On. His previous release from this collection was “Fast Car,” by Tracy Chapman. This time, he is giving us his take of “The Story,” by Brandi Carlile.
“The Story,” is one of my all time favorite songs. It is just full of killer vocals, a beautiful message and hardcore emotion. I think that it is really cool that Levi kept the emotion in the song and still managed to make it his own. He really did a great job at paying homage to Brandi Carlile. His vocals are heavily showcased in this version. His falsetto is on point and it’s just an all around great version of an already iconic song. Levi keeps popping out hits and proves over and over again, why he is here to stay.
