Olivia Rodrigo is an actress and singer, who is known for her roles as Paige Olvera on the Disney Channel original series Bizaardvark and Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Rodrigo signed with Interscope and Geffen Records in 2020, and released her debut single “drivers license” in January 2021. Her breakout hit, “drivers license” is the first song to hit 1 billion global streams in 2021. She also spent 8 straight weeks at the top of Billboard as well.
Olivia Rodrigo just released a new song, “deja vu,” from her highly anticipated upcoming album *O*R. Olivia does a great job at showing off the emotion that she showed in “driver’s license,” which helped make it one of the biggest songs this year. The story of the song is what really makes it a standout.
“So when you gonna tell her that we did that too?/ She thinks it’s special/ But it’s all re-used/ That was our place, I found it first/ I made the jokes you tell to her/ When she’s with you,”
“The concept of deja vu has always fascinated me, and I thought it would be cool to use it in a song around the complex feelings after a relationship ends,” said Rodrigo in a statement to Billboard.
