John Ruiz Jr is a Louisiana based Country-Rock, singer/songwriter. He is relatively new on the scene. He has had the chance to do shows with Jamey Johnson & Colt Ford back in February too. His debut single, “Long Time Coming,” has also been making waves on Country Music charts in LA. John grew up playing guitar completely self taught. He has a lifelong obsession with music, predominantly Heavy Metal and Blues. John started playing professionally at 36 years old. After a few years of playing and singing Metal and Hard Rock, He found his home and comfort zone in the arms of Outlaw and Classic country.
John Ruiz Jr is back with his new single, “Few Good Men.” “Few Good Men,” is a Country/Rock song about some good friends and some of the moments they shared together. First off this single is heavier hitting than his previous one that we reviewed, “Long Time Coming.” The instrumentals and vocals just hit a bit harder in this song. From the guitar, bass and even the harmonica, it brings a different tone to this one. With the message of this release, this tactic pays off. John Ruiz Jr really shows off his vocal abilities in “Few Good Men.” You can also hear more emotion in his voice with this one as well. The story of the song really makes it special. By the end of the song, you really feel like you know the guys in the song. All in all, this is a solid song by an up and coming singer/songwriter in Louisiana.
