Maluma and J Balvin have come together once again, with the Colombian artists unveiling their second collaborative effort. Released on Friday, their new track “Gafas Negras” follows their previous hit “Qué pena” from 2019.
“Gafas Negras” is featured on Maluma’s latest album, DON JUAN. This release comes amid accolades for the F.A.M.E. singer, as his album was nominated for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Crafted by Madmusick and DJ Luian, the latest track was penned by Maluma (29), J Balvin (38), Edgar Barrera, Jhayco, Bifi, DJ Luian, and Jonathan Rivera. The song narrates the tale of two friends relishing a night out at the club, immersed in the lively atmosphere of “perreando” dancing, also known as twerking.
In addition to releasing their latest track, the collaborators also unveiled its accompanying music video. Directed by César “Tés” Pimienta, the video made its worldwide debut across MTV’s extensive network of channels.
As the song ends, Balvin congratulates Maluma for everything he’s achieved thus far. “I’m so proud of what you’ve done,” said Balvin. “Proud of you because you’re hard, you’ve never stopped, you push forward, and you’ve become like my little brother.”
