We are back with our New Music Friday playlist. Check out the full tracks and reviews below!
Kayden McCarthy | “Ms. Lady”
Born alongside the coast New Jersey, Kayden McCarthy began his musical journey in the city of Amsterdam, NL where he spent the better part of his childhood. Later moving to central Illinois and eventually settling in the city of Chicago, it became clear to Kayden that music was evidently going to play a large role in life. We have featured him a few times, and now he is back with a new track, “Ms. Lady.” This track is really compelling. The backing track is well done and pairs well with his vocals. As I have said before, he has one of my favorite voices. This song puts his voice at the forefront of the track, which is smart considering how strong his vocals are. Definitely a strong start to our New Music Friday. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
ANDY ETC. | “Some Kind of Quiet”
Behind the name ANDY ETC. we find Andreas Ringblom, who was the front figure of the Danish Sony-signed pop duo De Dødelige, who particularly made a name for themselves on Danish radio a few years ago. Since then, Andreas has written songs for a lot of other artists, been No. 1 on the charts in China, Korea and Japan, sold one and a half million physical CD’s in Asia and achieved more than 600 million streams world wide. He just released a new track, “Some Kind of Quiet.” This is such a beautiful song. This is a more piano driven track that really showcases his vocals. He has such a stunning voice that elevates the entire piece. A beautiful performance. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
She Is Jules | “Do Therapists?”
From acoustic pop to electronic dance music; She Is Jules does it all-yet her bruty tone and aetherial songwriting remains a voice that you won’t forget. Starting at the young age of 8, Julianna Pollifrone picked up a guitar and started her journey to becoming an artist. Her voice can be heard throughout songs all around the world; amassing over +113 million streams on Spotify alone. She just released a new track, “Do Therapists?”. I feel like a lot of people are going to relate to this song. It is such a cool song that is going to resonate with her audience. She has a powerful voice. She does a great job at delivering the story of the song, all while never losing her vocal power. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
Virginia To Vegas | “casamigos”
With 735+ Million streams, multi-platinum selling Virginia to Vegas is one of Canada’s most promising global exports. With the US as his Top Country (then CAN+AUS), 225+ social followers in China alone, radio airplay across Southeast Asia, South Korean National beer sync, International collabs, & his first press tour overseas, VIIV is making waves on a global level. They just released a new track, “casamigos.” There is so much energy packed into this 3:16 song. The instrumentals are smart and well done. They pair well with the vocals as well. His tone and his delivery is a work of artists that a lot of artists strive for. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
Seafret | “Remind Me To Forget You”
Seafret have come full circle. The Northern duo – Jack Sedman and Harry Draper – took on the world, releasing debut album ‘Tell Me It’s Real’ in 2016. It’s a record dominated by their move to London, signing to a major label, and plunging head-first into an industry they could scarcely understand. Now it’s just them. Seizing their independence, the pair returned to their hometown to work on their new material. They just released a new track, “Remind Me to Forget You.” We have featured them a few times, and each time, it is always something special. This has more of an alt pop/folk vibe, which is perfect for the vocals of the track. The backing track/instrumentals are catchy and show off an even catchier melody. The vocals are powerful and are showcased throughout the track. They do a great job at keeping their audience enthralled in their performance. All in all, it is a stunning track that you will have on repeat. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
