Rachel Chevat aka Rainlights is a singer/songwriter/producer and engineer based in NYC. After spending two years in London, UK – where she received her Master’s degree in Audio Production, Rainlights is now ready to share her dreamy music with the world.
Through a life of seeing colors when hearing sounds, Rainlights is inspired by her synesthesia. By using melodies to recreate images sonically, the artist combines her soothing vocals, her storytelling and her cinematic productions to create dreamy-pop/folk records that will make you feel a sense of belonging.
“My favorite songs are the kind that take you away for a moment, wherever you are. That’s the kind of feeling I try to capture with my own work – when your chest is warm and your soul exhales. Whenever I am unsure of where I belong, sound is my solace, and I would like to share that,” she says.
“When My Phone Dies,” is a beautiful track that a lot of people are going to relate to. The instrumentals are really well done and compliment the vocals nicely. Her voice is mesmerizing. She does a great job at capturing the emotion of the song and relaying it to her audience. This is definitely one that should be added to your playlists.
