AP Childe just released his new single, “Learned My Lesson.” Check out the full track and review below!
AP Childe (born Austin Powell) gravitates toward lovers’ music with a dark touch. At the age of seven, his family went broke and drove 2,539 miles to move into his grandmother’s house in the woods of New Jersey. From this experience, AP began to develop an appreciation for the unpredictable nature of growing up and turned to music.
Singing, songwriting, and (later) production became AP’s refuge. Early influences like Frank Sinatra and the Beatles later took an abrupt turn into an obsession with alt-R&B artists like The Weeknd and Frank Ocean, creating a unique vocal style and sensibility.
AP Childe just released, “Learned My Lesson.” The new track is really well done. The backing track is very inventive and compelling. That track does a great job at setting up his voice to be in the forefront of the song, which pays off completely. He has such a great voice which is evident by the vocal gymnastics throughout the song. It is impressive that he has such a broad range, and still manages to keep up the energy of the song. This is one that should be added to your playlists.
