Levi Hummon | “Fast Car”
Levi Hummon is a local artist that is already making waves in Country Music. He just wrapped up his first headlining tour. He has toured with Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt and Martina McBride. It is safe to say that he has been in the presence of some Country Greats.
Levi’s new single is his take on Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.” Right off the bat, you are greeted by some killer acoustics. He definitely means business with his version. His vocals are in the forefront of this song. He has a way of relating to the song where you feel every aspect of the song. The background vocals also compliment Levi’s perfectly.
All in all, this is a strong release. My favorite part of covers of popular songs is that the artist has a chance to make it their own and put their own spin on it. That is exactly what he did with this song. I could see this release getting as many Spotify streams as “Stupid,” which has over 19,000,000 streams!
