GOHAR was born in Gyumri, Armenia, and now calls Salzburg, Austria home. She started music school at five, fell hard for opera by eleven, and eventually earned a degree in opera singing at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. Production is what actually pulled her toward songwriting; once she started building tracks herself, writing her own songs just made more sense than anything else. The concept came from a much bigger idea she was working through personally, losing parts of who you are along the way and slowly finding your way back. She’s cast herself as something like a dark fairy in the song, searching her own depths for what got left behind, moving through fear and old wounds toward something closer to peace. Once the concept clicked, the lyrics came fast. The production took longer, closer to two months total, because she wanted the sound to actually match the weight of what she was writing about.
