Harry Eley is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Guildford, Surrey, writing guitar-led songs about what being a young adult in the 2020s actually feels like: relationships that refuse to sit still, figuring out who you are, and the struggles that never make it onto anyone’s Instagram grid. He first stepped out with the single “Thinking of You” in February 2025, then followed it with his debut EP, Me, led by the track “Stop the War.”
His next EP is titled You, a neat companion to the first, and it is due in early 2027. “Killing The High” is the opening taste of it, and Eley is not shy about how highly he rates it, calling it the strongest song he has written so far.
Killing The High
It is easy to see where that confidence comes from. “Killing The High” is built on bright, driving guitars that keep the energy climbing from the first bar, and the whole thing moves with a sense of purpose that suggests he has learned a lot about getting to the point since Me. There is no flab here. Every section earns its place and hands off cleanly to the next.
The chorus is the big win. It is cheeky and self-assured, the kind of hook that sounds made for a packed room to shout back at the stage, and Eley’s vocal steers it with real assurance, never pushing too hard or letting it slip away from him. Add crisp, polished production and you have a track that sounds bigger than you might expect from an artist this early in his career.
Final Thoughts
“Killing The High” is a confident step forward and a strong first look at what You has in store. If this is how Harry Eley is opening his next chapter, 2027 could be a big year for him.
