Anthony W. Harris Jr. has been writing songs for more than twenty years, first as a way to blow off steam at the end of the day. It took a serious health scare in 2024 for him to decide those songs needed to be recorded and heard, and what he went through, along with everything it revealed to him on both a personal and a spiritual level, now sits at the heart of his writing.
He works in the Red Dirt rock lane, that rough-edged mix of rock and country roots first brewed in Oklahoma, and his new single “Aerodynamic” shows he knows exactly how to keep a song moving.
Aerodynamic
True to its name, “Aerodynamic” is built for speed and lift. The groove grabs hold early, and about a minute and a half in the song really opens up, kicking into a higher gear that carries it the rest of the way. It is the kind of rhythm that gets a foot tapping whether you planned on it or not.
Harris keeps his vocal loose and laid-back over the top, sliding easily into the mix and phrasing the lyrics in a way that sounds like nobody but him. That relaxed delivery set against such a driving backbeat gives the song a cocky, self-assured strut without ever tipping over into showing off.
