Connor Riesen is an American producer and artist from Orlando, Florida, where he still lives in the house he grew up in. He started learning piano at seven before deciding to teach himself instead of continuing lessons, and picked up French horn in his school band a few years later, which gave him his first real grounding in reading music and understanding harmony. In 2019, he began writing melodies over simple piano progressions at his grandparents’ house, a habit that eventually pulled him into digital production and led to his 2022 debut album, In My Mind. His new single, “Everybody Falls in Love in Time,” features vocalist Lisandra Yero and comes from his Beginnings, Vol. 1 release.
Everybody Falls in Love in Time
This track marked a real turning point for Riesen, both in his career and in his own sense of identity as an artist. It became his first song to reach major streaming numbers, and it also served as his first real step into jazz, a genre he’s continued building on ever since through projects like Stories and All This Time. Riesen has pointed to the lyrical symbolism behind the song as much as the production itself when talking about why it means so much to him, treating it as the moment that set a new bar for everything he made afterward. With Yero’s vocal woven through his own arrangement, the song blends his self-taught, melody-first songwriting instincts with a more structured jazz sensibility, the kind of pairing that reflects his stated love for artists like Dave Brubeck and Vince Guaraldi. It’s a song that clearly carries weight for Riesen beyond just its streaming numbers, standing as a marker of where his sound started to take real shape.
