Dolly Parton | “Mary Did You Know”

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton is a household name that really needs no introduction. Not only is she a wonderful Singer/Songwriter, but she is an actress, philanthropist, entrepreneur and just an all around beautiful person. Musically, she is best known for, “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Here You Come Again,” “9 to 5” and “Islands in the Stream,” among many others.

At age 74, she doesn’t show any signs of letting up. Recently, she has even helped out in the fight for a vaccine for the Covid-19 virus, by giving a generous gift to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in hopes of finding a cure. You can read Vanderbilt’s statement on this amazing gift here. She is also still active with Dollywood and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library as well.

After receiving a Grammy Award earlier in the year for “God Only Knows,” with King and Country, she is back with a powerful new single, “When Life is Good Again.” This is a song that everyone should hear during this time. During a time when everything seems dark and gloomy, leave it to Dolly to brighten everything up. She says it best with the lyrics, “Lets open up our hearts and let the love shine in.”

Dolly is back with, “Mary Did You Know,” off her upcoming Christmas album, A Holly Dolly Christmas. Her voice just has a way of making you happy. Vocals are super strong in this song and goes perfectly with the instrumentals. This is such a beautiful version of this Christmas classic. Her voice sounds so authentic and blends well with the choir and background vocals. Dolly proves once again, why she is an icon and still a force to be reckoned with.
