New Release Friday

We are back with our Side B of our New Release Friday releases. Check out the tracks and reviews below!

Brenden David | “On My Mind”

Florida born but Tennessee raised, Brenden David draws inspiration from many wells. He reminds us that music has the ability to bring the back of our minds to the foreground and paint the pictures we didn’t know we wanted to see. He just released a new track, “On My Mind.” Here is what he had to say about the new track. “This song is classic pop! It features a catchy whistle hook, an upbeat 80’s sound, and sarcastically sad lyrics. I wrote and produced this song in my little spare bedroom studio. All parts were recorded here except for live drums, which were recorded at a local studio here in Chattanooga, TN.” The new song is really well done. That whistle hook is super catchy and gets you attached to the song. It is a stunning performance that shows just how talented Brenden is. This is definitely one that should be added to your playlists.

Olivia Penalva | “You Love It”

With her latest single releases, Olivia Penalva continues to show why she is Canada’s latest pop sensation. Since releasing her debut single at the age of 13, the British Columbia native has steadily grown into an all-around artist and a genuine force within the global pop scene over the past decade. Olivia Penalva just released her new single, “You Love It.” It is a beautiful, piano heavy ballad that shows Penalva beautifully showcasing her vocals and relatable storytelling abilities. She also does a great job at showing off the emotion of the song, all while not losing the storyline. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.

Maddie Ettrich | “Decaying Candles”

25-year-old Maddie Ettrich is a Canadian born indie-pop singer/songwriter based out of Nashville, TN. She just released her single, “Decaying Candles.” The backing track is well done and set her vocals up to soar throughout. She has such captivating vocals, which work well with the emotion of the song. All in all, it is a strong song that should be added to your playlists.

Nové | “Broken Keyboard”

Nové’s songs are packed full of meaningful stories that weave in the fabric of life that are typically hidden away. While her journey has not always been easy, Nové is truly grateful for the highs and lows along the way. She just released her new single, “Broken Keyboard. This piano led ballad is absolutely beautiful. Her vocals soar throughout the song. The way she goes from her chest voice, into her head voice is something special. Such a great song that needs to be added to your playlists.

New Music

Sitting between arena rock and the classic sound of 60’s soul singers, Philadelphia and Los Angeles based band PHNTMS create rock music bursting with vast soundscapes and soulful vocals. They just released, Paper Flowers (Josh Dally Remix). This remix has more of an 80’s sound to it, which is refreshing. This song is so catchy and could easily be on the radio tomorrow. Between the instrumentals and the vocals, there is something remarkable here. Don’t forget to add this one to your playlists.

DYLYN | Skin and Bone

DYLYN (aka Gwendolyn Lewis) has created a unique style that pulls together raw, rock n’ roll energy with infections pop hooks. She just released a new track, “Skin and Bone.” It is a cinematic song, with big vocals. The track could easily be on an indie movie soundtrack, which is a huge compliment. Definitely one of the stronger songs we have featured recently. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
