Little Mix | Confetti – Album Review

Little Mix

Britain’s Little Mix are an exuberant, all-female pop and R&B outfit who shot to stardom after winning the eighth season of the British X Factor in 2011. Little Mix is made up of Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. Their first single “Cannonball” skyrocketed to number one in the U.K. In 2012, they released their first full length album DNA, which hit the Top Five in both the U.S. and the U.K., and spawned the number one British single “Wings.”

Other popular records they have released include Salute in 2013 and Get Weird in 2015. The group has also released award-winning singles and hit album Glory Days and LM5. Additionally, Little Mix has also released headphones, a perfume brand, and clothing in UK high-street chain Primark.

They have just released their highly anticipated album, Confetti. In honor of this huge release, we have decided to do a review for the new album. They previously released “Holiday,” “Sweet Melody,” “Break Up Song,” and “Not a Pop Song,” which have been highly successful already with over 100 Million Streams, just between those four, which is impressive.

Usually there would be some fillers on the album, just to take up space on albums, but not with this one. Every track brings something special. The title track,”Confetti,” is one of the strongest songs on the new album. With it having an R&B/Dance influence, it is one that you will have on repeat, just like “Happiness.” This song delivers some pretty strong vocals and is insanely catchy.

There are a bunch of standouts on this album. The entire second half of the album is just as strong as the first half. It is impressive that the album’s momentum doesn’t let up and just keeps delivering. My personal favorite, “My Love Won’t Let You Down,” is my personal favorite off of the album, just because I am a sucker for vulnerability and this song delivers it perfectly.
