Kelly Clarkson’s Divorce to Be Heard by Private Judge

Kelly Clarkson

Grammy and Emmy Award-winning singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson has obtained a private judge to preside over her divorce case with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

According to court documents obtained, the retired judge Scott Cordon will be determining “all matters until the final determination of the case.”

The duo share daughter River Rose aged 7, and son Remington, aged 5 and announced their intention to split back in June 2020.

One of the biggest aspects of their divorce that the duo cannot seem to decide upon is the host’s Montana ranch where Clarkson took “live testimony” of Blackstock in November.

Despite appeals from Blackstock to be awarded the property, his prenuptial agreement with Clarkson states otherwise.

However, the host is currently struggling to get Blackstock to vacate the premises since her former spouse planned to “testify as to the issues raised by Petitioner’s Request for Order that he vacate.”

For those wondering, Blackstock is still sticking with his version of events and stipulating that since he worked full-time on the property, he be awarded ownership.

“I mean, it’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster,” the “Stronger” songstress told Willie Geist in September 2020. “Personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple of months. I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.”

“You can ask anyone who’s gone through a divorce, I don’t think anyone expects it,” she told Hoda Kotb on the Today show. “You see yourself growing old with someone and then life has a different path. It’s so hard on everyone, and you know me, I’m really open. I try to be open and share … We all go through things. But at the same time, we have four kids total with each other. That’s a lot of hearts involved, and you just have to be really careful. … We’re in the public eye so that’s hard too, to try and be truthful but also keep your privacy.”
