Tim Jackson is a UK singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with an unusually early start in music, learning piano through the Suzuki method from age three and playing pitch-perfect by ear by four. Classically trained but drawn to pop from the start, he wrote his first song at just five years old. He later formed a band during his student years alongside Jon Green, now a successful Nashville-based songwriter, and Andy Platts of Young Gun Silver Fox, before life pulled music into more of a passion project than a day job for a stretch.
He returned to it with 2019’s Better Later Than Never, featuring Jon Green, Iain Hornal, and drummer Tom Meadows, whose credits include Kylie, Duffy, and Will Young, followed by 2025’s lockdown-era Litter In The Park, whose track “Nowhere Together With You” raised more than ยฃ5,000 for nurses at The Whittington Hospital. New single “Can’t Stop The Rain,” released September 25th, marks his first release under a newly signed global distribution deal with Right Track/Universal Music, and the first taste of his forthcoming album, Putting In The Hours, due in early 2027.

“Can’t Stop The Rain” has a comfortable, familiar warmth to it, the kind of song that feels like it’s been around for decades even on a first listen. Built on smooth, sophisticated 70s-style pop-rock grooves and carefully layered harmonies, the track pairs polished musicianship with honest, grounded lyrical storytelling. It works as a kind of melodic metaphor for life’s daily grind, Jackson’s plea for something simpler, trading the constant churn of city life for the easier rhythm of a day spent at the beach. The songwriting stays lyrically direct rather than reaching for complexity, letting the arrangement carry most of the emotional texture instead. The track was recorded at Love Electric Studios in Hornsey, with a guitar solo from renowned blues-rock guitarist Seb Wesson, a childhood friend of Jackson’s, adding another layer of craft to the finished song.
