Taylor Swift | Fearless (Taylor’s Version) – Album Review
Jerrett Franklin grew up in a small town. He moved…
Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game at 11 years old, and began songwriting and learned guitar at 12 years old. She released her first single, “Tim McGraw,” in 2006 and has been on a tear ever since. She has racked up 769 Award nominations and has won 330 of them. She is one of only two female solo artists, along with Adele, to win Album Of The Year twice for her solo recordings. She won the award for 2010 for Fearless and again for 2015 for 1989. She has accumulated 41 Grammy Nominations, (including 2021) and won 11 of them. She has an estimated sales of over 50 million albums and 150 million singles worldwide.
We have previously reviewed her latest two albums, folklore and evermore. She is back with her re-recorded version of her hit album, Fearless. Along with the original tracks of the album, she released some new, re-recorded unvaulted songs. First is “You All Over Me,” which features pop/country superstar, Maren Morris.
Perhaps most notable in the new track is the song’s opening line. The lyrics open with a reference back to Fearless‘s title track and begins with the phrase, “There’s something ’bout the way the street looks when it’s just rained.” It is pretty cool to take a walk down memory lane and transport us back to the Fearless era. Adding Maren Morris’s vocals is just a positive considering how strong both of their voices are together. Next up on the unvaulted tracks is “Mr. Perfectly Fine.”
“Mr. Perfectly Fine,” is a catchy song about letting someone go after the end of the relationship. Taylor is a songwriting genius, even back then when this song was written. This song is full of hooks and a very catchy melody. This one Next up is “We Were Happy.”
“We Were Happy,” is a heartbreaking song that has all of the makings of a hit from another era. If you want a song to make you want to cry in a corner with a glass of wine, check out “We Were Happy.” Next up is “That’s When,” which features Country icon, Keith Urban.
“That’s When,” is mellow slowed down track. Taylor and Keith Urban’s voice sound great together and compliment each other completely. Another great (From The Vault) song. Next up is “Don’t You.”
“Don’t You,” is a beautiful song with a very unique instrumental setup at the beginning. Putting her voice in the forefront was a great idea. Her vocals are very raw and vulnerable. Definitely a stand out on this album. Last up is “Bye Bye Baby.”
“Bye Bye Baby,” is a great way to end this re-release. From the vocals to the instrumentals, this track is bound to leave fans wanting more. A great setup for Taylor to release her next (Taylor’s Version) album.
Fearless (Taylor’s Version), is a must have. She is bringing her old hits to a new generation. She has managed to make her classic songs feel fresh again, which is no easy task. Check out the new album below and stream on all major streaming platforms.

After writing for a few different artists in the area, he decided to branch out and give local music the spotlight. That is where the idea for Music On The Rox originated from.
