Rita Ora Releases New Single, “Don’t Think Twice”
Renowned director Taika Waititi has made his first-ever appearance in one of his wife’s, Rita Ora, music videos, adding another accomplishment to his impressive career. The video is for Ora’s latest single, “Don’t Think Twice,” which serves as the third release from her highly anticipated album, You & I. Despite his fame in the film industry for directing blockbusters like Thor and Jojo Rabbit, Waititi took on the role of director for this music video, showcasing his versatile talent.
But when Ora appears in Aotearoa woods – complete with mist, a dog and a Corolla, and dances in a hoody and shorts – it feels more ET-inspired than anything else. Especially with dramatic Marvel-inspired face makeup and a bicycle making an appearance.
Also dancing nearby is a male shape, likely to be her director husband. For one brief moment Waititi does make a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo – marking his first appearance in one of his wife’s videos.
Ora described the single as being about just jumping in romantically and not thinking twice.
“You only live once, so it’s really about seizing the moment, and not being held back by thoughts of what might or might not happen.”
“Don’t Think Twice” was co-written by Ora and produced by Oak Felder, and the album You & I is due to be released July 14.
