Kelly Clarkson Shouts Out Lainey Wilson & Cody Johnson

We adore Kelly Clarkson for many reasons: Her iconic voice, her fun fashion choices, and her tendency to keep it super real on social media. This time, the former Voice coach took to Instagram to call out one of our other favorite artists, “Watermelon Moonshine” singer (and Yellowstone star) Lainey Wilson. But there’s no drama here: It’s all love between the powerhouse singers!
Kelly released her 10th studio album, Chemistry, on June 23. She has been promoting her new songs on social media, making the talk show rounds, and even surprising fans with popup performances. The “Since U Been Gone” singer offered an alternative to fans if they’re already tired of her new music (we could never, but when Kelly speaks, we listen).
Kelly shared this message on her Instagram story: “If you’re needing a break from listening to my new album “Chemistry” then check out @laineywilsonmusic ‘wild flowers and wild horses’ & @codyjohnson ‘when it comes to you’ ❤️ you’re gonna love both these artists…or you have **** taste. 😜”
Kelly is referring, of course, to Lainey’s song off of her Bell Bottom Country album and Texas native Cody Johnson’s song from Human.
Lainey reposted Kelly’s compliment on her Instagram story and added, “Well dang. This means the world from you sister. Love you ❣️”
We love seeing this outpouring of support from two of our favorite singers. Now, would it be too much to ask for a duet?

Jerrett Franklin grew up in a small town. He moved to Nashville to pursue a music career. After writing for a few different artists in the area, he decided to branch out and give local music the spotlight. That is where the idea for Music On The Rox originated from. We are dedicated to shining a light on local music and giving a voice to those who aren’t being heard.
