We are back with our Saturday Satisfaction playlist. Check out the new tracks and reviews below!
Light Grey | “Loser”
Formed in late 2017, Light Grey stepped out into the alternative music scene with the release of their debut pop rock EP, Beginners Luck. They just released a new track, “Loser.” This is such a deep and intense song. The instrumentals pair really well with the vocals. The vocals are made for this genre of music. They do a great job at keeping up the energy of the song, all while never losing the intensity of the vocals. Definitely a standout this week. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
ari hicks | “Sad Ghost”
“Sad Ghost” is the second single off of her upcoming EP It’s Not That Deep: Chapter 2. “Sad Ghost” is a stunning slow burn alt pop single chronicling the feelings of being stuck in life. With moonlight-tinted synths under ari’s pristine vocals and an intoxicating bass heavy drop to boot, “Sad Ghost” is a delectable infusion of pop, electronic and alt R&B. The song is a deeply confessional track, with ari showing a raw vulnerability and a new side of herself that listeners have yet to see. It is such a well done song that puts ari’s vocals front and center. This is perfect considering how strong her vocals are. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
Francisco Martin | “Split Personality”
After his first-ever tour, and a clutch of well-received singles, Los Angeles-based, San Francisco-born pop singer-songwriter, and producer Francisco Martin realized he had an all-consuming yearning to be his authentic self in his music. We have featured him a few times, and now he is back with a new track, “Split Personality.” He has one of my favorite voices that I have featured on the site since we have started. He has a way of capturing the emotion of the song, and just delivering it perfectly. This song is more vulnerable than some of his other ones, and also one of his strongest. One of my favorite songs that I have featured since the beginning. Make sure to add this one to your playlist.
King Falcon | “When The Party Is Over”
Michael Rubin is the creative driving force behind King Falcon, but drummer and sometimes recording engineer James Terranova is essential to the band’s spirit. They just released a new track, “When The Party Is Over.” Such an energetic track. It is really well done. The instrumentals are compelling and pair well with the vocals. They do a great job at showing off their versatility, all while creating an epic piece of art. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.
