Back to Yours | “How Can I Change”

Back to Yours just released a new track, “How Can I Change.” This is such a cool track. It has a throwback sound, which is much needed in the current musical landscape. With this kind of sound, it also forces the vocals to the front of the track. This is smart, considering how strong the vocals are. A standout performance by a very talented group. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.

AEM | “As We Go”

Canadian Singer/Songwriter AEM has had success in the release of multiple genres but has decided to turn her focus solely on this new path of Pop-Alt, or “wherever the music leads her” as she likes to say. She just released a new track, “As We Go.” This track is really well done. The vocals and the instrumentals go really well together. She has such a beautiful voice and it is refreshing to hear it at the forefront of the song. Definitely a standout this week. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.

Grace Gachot | “Fuckboy Tragedy”

Grace Gachot just released a new track, “Fuckboy Tragedy.” Just by the title, you know that this song has some spice to it. Once you get into the song, you will see just how much energy this track has. The backing track is awesome but the real standout here are her vocals. She has such a good voice. She has one of those voices that just cuts through the song and leaves you wanting more. Such a great release that deserves to be added to your playlists.

Two Year Vacation | “Dopamine”

Two Year Vacation is the band that originates from its own contrast and is all about driving out all stale senses of the mundane. With inspiration from trivial daily routines and dreams they make music that travels in a fascinating blend of Italo disco, rock and Caribbean kraut through easygoing joyful rhythms wrapped in tropical vibes. Two Year Vacation just released a new track, “Dopamine.” This is a really cool track. It has a throwback retro sound to it, which is refreshing in today’s music. Vocally, it is a stunning performance that will keep you on your toes. Definitely one to add to your playlists this week.

Christen Morrell | “lost at sea”

Christen Morrell is a singer-songwriter and electronic music producer from Annapolis, Maryland. Inspired by artists including Maggie Rogers, Fiji Blue, and The Misterwives, the singer intertwines interesting electronic beats with clever lyrics and emotional authenticity to create unforgettable pop refrains.  She just released a new track, “lost at sea.” This is more of a bluesy influenced track, which is much needed in music today. Her voice goes well with this type of music. She has such a beautiful voice that is front and center in the track. All in all, it is a song that you will have on repeat. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.

Yoyo Nagase | “i don’t care”

Dance Yourself Clean x Brett Hunter | “Take Your Time (Do It Right)”

Dance Yourself Clean started in Seattle (2013) as an indie dance party that grew into the first touring dance party in North America. After moving to Los Angeles to expand the party and create their own record label (Lights & Music Collective) and producing for other artists for years, “DYC” decided to turn their party into a music project. Releasing original music and remixes using the party’s moniker “Dance Yourself Clean”.  They teamed up with Brett Hunter for a new banger, “Take Your Time (Do It Right). I mean, it is in their name, you will definitely dance. The instrumentals have a retro feel to them, which works well with the vocals of the track. It is such a stunning performance from DYC and Brett Hunter. Everything from the vocals and the production, are just perfect. One of my favorites that I have reviewed this year. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.

ISA | “Girl You Lost”

On “Girl You Lost”, ISA combines her distinctive voice with an energetic vibe and attitude to say goodbye to a toxic relationship, finding a renewed sense of self and purpose. The song was co-written by and produced at TEN Studios with fellow Swede Gustav Blomberg. “On this song, I dared myself to try something new and find a new way of expressing myself that remained authentic. There was something in the way that the lyrics and music came together on this track that really clicked and inspired me.” The new track is really well done. Not only is it energetic, but the vocals are absolutely insane. She showcases her vocal versatility throughout the song, which is very impressive. Definitely one of my favorites this week. Make sure to add this one to your playlists.

One of my favorite things this week, is no matter which artist you listen to on our list, they all have something different about them. Harbour has such a unique sound which will keep you entertained throughout the track. The vocals and instrumentals are well done. The production is also on point too. All in all, it is a perfect way to end our New Release Friday. Such a great release.
